Columbus, OH, July 21, 2026 — Encova Insurance Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Personal Lines, Matt Wilcox, will retire at the end of 2027 after more than 42 years in the insurance industry. As part of the transition strategy, Dan McCabe has been hired, effective today, as a special advisor to the president and CEO, and will transition to the role in April 2027. At that time, Wilcox will serve in an advisory capacity until his retirement.

“I am grateful for Matt’s leadership these past eight years as we reinvented our personal lines to a modern platform and elevated our offerings,” said Encova President and CEO TJ Obrokta Jr. “Matt has been a crucial member of our senior leadership team, and as his presence will be missed, I know the torch is being passed to another great leader who will continue to grow our Personal Lines operations.”

McCabe has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He most recently served as the CEO of Concord Group Insurance Company in New Hampshire where he helped the company receive an A+ rating from AM Best. His experience in both commercial lines and personal lines includes leading company transformations, strategic planning, reinsurance and agency compensation programs.

“I am very excited to have Dan join our team. His experience, capabilities and strategic vision will further strengthen our already exceptional senior leadership team,” said Obrokta.
